Community Science Evening at Onanda Park

Where: Onanda Park: 4965 County Road 16, Canandaigua, NY 14424

Enjoy beautiful Canandaigua Lake while participating in this fun “Science Camp” for Adults where you will cycle through 4 interactive stations to learn about aquatic plant sampling and ID’ing, terrestrial invasive species, macroinvertebrates in the stream, and learn more about our citizen science programs and what active participants do as part of it!

Event Details:

  • Aquatic plant station with retired FLCC professor Dr. Bruce Gilman
  • Terrestrial invasive species station with FLPRISM
  • Aquatic Macroinvertebrate sampling with watershed educators
  • Learn about the ioLight microscope, secchi disk sampling, temperature at depth and CHAB’s monitoring programs, topographic maps and how you can get involved with CLWA’s citizen science programs
  • Dinner will be served (subs, snacks, and drinks)
