SUPPORT REQUESTED: 2024 Year End Appeal.
This year has been a powerful wake-up call about the challenges Canandaigua Lake is facing. We’ve just experienced one of the most severe cyanobacterial harmful algal bloom (cyanoHAB) seasons on record, leading to beach and park closures and widespread warnings against swimming. This is not only a threat to our water quality and ecosystem but also to the health and well-being of our community.
Now more than ever, the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association (CLWA) is committed to protecting this precious resource—but we need your ongoing support. By donating, you help us safeguard the lake for future generations through science-based research, environmental education, and sound public policy.

Your donation today will help sustain critical programs for the coming year.
Water Quality Monitoring and Research: Your contribution supports critical efforts to study and monitor cyanoHABs and other threats to the lake, helping to advance the understanding of long-term solutions.
Lake Stewardship and Environmental Education Program: An informed community can help drive change. Through programs for both adults and students, we empower the community to adopt lake-friendly practices that reduce pollution and minimize runoff
Advocacy for Lake Protection: We are dedicated to strengthening local and regional partnerships to influence policies that prioritize the health of Canandaigua Lake and the Finger Lakes region.
Together, we can make a lasting difference in preserving the health of Canandaigua Lake.
