Citizen Science Hike at Hinchcliff Family Preserve: Baselining Birds in a Changing Environment

This event is part of Lake Friendly Living Awareness month and is sponsored by the Skaneateles Lake Association and the Finger Lakes Land Trust.

Join SLA Executive Director Frank Moses along with local bird experts and learn about popular smart device applications such as eBird, iMapInvasives, and naturalist followed by a birding hike at Finger Lakes Land Trust’s Hinchcliff Family Preserve. The event will also be an effort in support of the Onondaga Audubon Society’s Birdathon. “Some say you don’t know what you have until it’s gone, but we also won’t know what to protect from being gone until we know what we have!”

Presenter:

Frank Moses joined SLA as Executive Director in May of 2019 and brings with him a strong background in water ecology, non-profit management, conservation, and community engagement.

He has been instrumental in advancing SLA’s mission through its key program areas in Invasive Species Prevention and Management, Watershed Wide Community Collaboration, Environmental Education, and addressing Harmful Algal Blooms through research and data-driven decision making relevant to Skaneateles Lake Watershed Improvement Projects.
