Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Survey Training Workshop

February 27, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am EST

The Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA) is an invasive forest pest that is threatening hemlock trees across the Finger Lakes region. HWA poses a significant threat to the structure of our watershed gullies, the beauty of our lakeside properties, and ultimately, our water quality.

Mapping the occurrence of HWA is of critical importance as we develop future HWA management efforts. You can help by learning to identify hemlocks and HWA, and reporting your findings using iMapInvasives.

Join us for an HWA Survey Training and Hike on Sunday, February 27th at 1:00 PM at Cumming Nature Center in Naples, NY  to learn more about this invasive and what you can do to help.

Registration is required: https://forms.gle/Mm3KmBh6x5VdVQSTA

Leading up to the event, we ask that you make an iMapInvasives account by visiting https://www.imapinvasives.org/ on a desktop or laptop computer. It will also be helpful to download the iMapInvasives app on your smartphone device.

*Masks will be required at this event*
