SUMMARY:NATURE-BASED SHORELINES FOR LAKE FRIENDLY LIVING
DESCRIPTION:This online event is part of Lake Friendly Living Awareness Month and is sponsored by CLWA\, OCSWCD\, and HVA. For the full list of events visit https://www.flrwa.org/lake-friendly-living . \nThe Ontario County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) has completed multiple streambank and shoreline stabilization projects across Ontario County. Their focus is on implementing projects that not only protect public uses and public infrastructures\, like roads and buildings\, but also mimic what would occur in nature to recreate native aquatic habitat. Nature-based design practices focus on using materials and building methods that occur naturally in ecosystems. \nAt this lunch and learn presentation\, Alaina will share ideas on nature-based shoreline options and some lake-friendly practices you can start working on right in your own backyard. \nAlaina Robarge is the Conservation District Educator for the Ontario County Soil & Water Conservation District. She has been with the District for almost four years. \nRegister at the link below:
