Projects
CLWA has a long history of participating in projects and partnering with other lake advocacy organizations.
All projects are aimed at the same goal: a healthy environment in the watershed that will keep Canandaigua Lake clean for future generations.
Some examples of our past projects:
- We helped create a management plan for the protection of the lake.
- We conducted hydrocarbon testing in the lake.
- We helped develop the "Lake Friendly Farmer and Marina" programs.
- We supported the establishment of noise and speed limits on the lake.
- We cleaned numerous agricultural and household dumps in the watershed gullies.
- We are studying land use and its impact on water quality.
- We conduct conferences and workshops designed to educate our lawmakers, public officials and citizens on issues affecting the health of the watershed.
